RIP Joe Kennedy
Major League pitcher Joe Kennedy died at his in laws home in Tampa, FL on friday. After going to bed early he woke up at 1:15 am and collapsed. He was immediately rushed to Brandon Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of death could not immediately be determined, agent Damon Lapa said.
Kennedy was in the Majors for seven years posting a 43-61 career record with a 4.79 ERA in 222 appearances. He played for three teams last season. With Oakland, Arizona and most recently with Toronto. “We were terribly shocked,” Blue Jays president Paul Godfrey told The Associated Press. “From what we understand he was in Brandon … to be the best man at a wedding today.”
My hope is that this is not a steroid or ephedra related death. Hopefully this isn’t another Steve Bechler situation but only time will tell. In the meantime lets poor out our liquor for Joe Kennedy.

LSU falls to unranked Arkansas
Just when we thought we had this NCAA football season figured out, another top 5 team falls to an unranked team. At this point it seems like its better to be unranked. This is the 12th time this season that an unranked team has beaten a top 5 team.
#1 LSU lost to Arkansas yesterday in triple overtime, 50-48. This was LSU’s second triple overtime loss this season. This effectively removes them from any title hopes that they had this season.
If you didn’t already know, Darren McFadden is a beast. He ran for 206 yards and three touchdowns. If that wasn’t enough he also threw for another one. After the game his coach called out ESPN analysts Mark May and Lou Holtz for not mentioning McFadden’s name in the Heisman race.
Regardless of whether or not McFadden wins the Heisman he will most likely be the first pick in the NFL draft next year and he will continue to dominate in the NFL. He has a very bright future.

Lakers/Celtics rivalry was renewed last night, sort of
There was a special atmosphere last night in Boston when the old 80s rivalry between the Celtics and the Lakers was renewed. This was the first time that both of these teams were pretty good in a long time but before long the Celtics took control of the game and didn’t look back.
With the crowd screaming “Beat L.A.” the whole night the Celtics beat the Lakers 107-94. Kevin Garnett has been a double double machine this year and last night was no different with Garnett scoring 21 points and pulling down 11 boards. Kobe Bryant scored 28 points in the loss.
On a side note, Arnold Schwarzenegger was in the building. You know its a big game when the Terminator shows up.
