The Spurs played their second game last night without their top player Tim Duncan who is out with an injury. Manu Ginobili came up huge though. Manu looks like a man among boys, who comes off the bench. LoL.
Super sub Manu had 37 points to lead all scorers as the Spurs came up with a 104-98 win over the Jazz.
Manu and the Spurs might as well just yell “Not in My house!” They haven’t lost a game at home yet and their team chemistry is still top top of the line even without their big man in the middle. Looks like the most boring team in the history of the NBA will continue to keep rolling.
Bulls win?!?!?!
Ben Wallace owns his former team, except in the playoffs that is. Since Ben came to Chicago from Detroit the Bulls are 5-1 against the Pistons, now it’s just too bad they can’t convert that to wins against other team as well this season.
The Bulls outhustled the Pistons to take a 98-91 victory over the Pistons to snap their 5 game win streak. Thats a surprise, but thats why they play the games.
Around the League
- Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns let the Washington Wizards hang around for a half. Then the Suns’ “awesome” offense got in gear. Nash delivered a season-high 19 assists, Amare Stoudemire scored 27 points, and Raja Bell had 14 of his 22 points during a game-deciding third quarter, helping Phoenix beat Washington 122-107 for its fifth consecutive victory.
- The day after his father Donald’s funeral, Stephon Marbury rejoined the Knicks - only to pull himself out of the lineup at halftime and spend the second half watching his lackluster teammates fall, 101-90, to the 76ers.
- Danny Granger scored a season-high 27 points and Jamaal Tinsley had 20 points and 10 assists to lift the Indiana Pacers to a 115-109 win over the Orlando Magic.
- The Nets appeared to be lethargic and disinterested while falling behind by double digits once again, mounted several fruitless comeback attempts and lost to the Rockets, 96-89, at the Meadowlands. They fell to 9-11 overall and 4-8 at home.
- Kevin Garnett scored 23 points and the Boston Celtics improved to 10-0 at home with a 112-84 win over the Toronto Raptors. Paul Pierce had 18 points and Ray Allen 13 for Boston.
- Chris Paul hit a driving layup through a crowd of defenders with 1.8 seconds left in overtime, capping a game of career highs and lifting the New Orleans Hornets to a 118-116 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
- Chris Kaman had 26 points and 12 rebounds to help the Los Angeles Clippers snap a seven-game losing streak with a 97-87 victory over the Sacramento Kings.
- Davis scored 13 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter and played tough defense on Dwyane Wade that helped the Warriors wear down the tired Miami Heat and rally from 18 points down to win for the 11th time in 13 games, 120-113.
- Kevin Durant got the help Michael Redd didn’t. Durant matched his career-high with 35 points, leading five Seattle players in double figures, and the SuperSonics held off Redd and the Milwaukee Bucks 104-98.
