Despite all the rumors swirling around Kobe ending up with the Bulls when he demanded to be traded, the deal never went down. The Lakers wanted too much of the Bulls young talent and the Bulls weren’t trying to hear it. In retrospect though it looks like they probably should’ve made the deal.
Kobe Bryant was had a groin injury to deal with but he was still able to score 18 points. The rest of the Lakers picked up the slack and the Lakers were able to pull off a victory in Chicago 103-91. Sasha Vujacic led six double figure scorers for the Lakers with 19 points. You can’t stop Sasha Vujacic; you can only hope to contain him.
Kobe says he’s happy to be LA now but for how long? Kobe is a bigger diva than Paris Hilton and it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he starts whining again. Probably another first round playoff exit will do it.
Around the League
- Sean Williams had eight blocks and boosted the Nets low-post game, but they still lost to Sacramento, 106-101, at the Meadowlands, turning the ball over 22 times and allowing the Kings to hit 62% of their three-point attempts.
- Chris Bosh scored 12 of his 24 points in the third quarter to help Toronto take the lead for good in the Raptors’ 80-77 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.
