Ok so Andrew Bynum is quickly becoming one of the best young players in the league. They had a thoroughly convincing victory last night at the Staples Center with Bynum coming up big. He had 25 points and 17 boards which is a career high. I guess Andrew must have been really excited about it because after the game he dropped the F-bomb in an interview. Check it out:

Trapped in the closet: Glen Rice remix

glenchristinarice.jpg

Former NBA All star Glen Rice was arrested on Friday on a battery charges. In a move that would’ve made R. Kelly proud, Glen Rice found a man hiding in his wifes closet and beat the man up.

Rice went to his estranged wife’s home and found Alberto Perez in the closet. He proceeded to punch him several times. After that Perez ran out of the house and called the cops. He got cut on his forehead and needed stitches.

Maybe Perez didn’t see trapped in the closet?

NHL Wrap: Coyotes, Islanders, Wild, Blue Jackets win

Around the League

  • Nikolai Zherdev scored twice in the last 6 minutes - one on a highlight-reel move that provided the go-ahead goal - and the Columbus Blue Jackets earned some payback for a bad loss three days earlier, beating the St. Louis Blues 6-4.
  • Josh Harding makes 41 saves, Marian Gaborik scores two goals and the Wild hand the Blackhawks their eighth straight loss, 5-2.
  • A veritable deluge of goals from a host of Islanders stuck in long scoring droughts produced a 5-4 shootout victory over Calgary at the Pengrowth Saddledome and ended a four-game losing streak.
  • Keith Yandle and Ed Jovanovski scored 16 seconds apart on two-man advantages in the second period as the Phoenix Coyotes beat Vancouver 4-3. That’s the Canucks’ first home loss in regulation since Nov. 1st.

NBA Wrap: LeBron needed to OT’s to get past Bobcats

    lbj-cats.jpgLeBron becoming a closer

More and more this season LeBron James is becoming a closer of games. Someone you can rely on in the final quarter to lead your team to victory. Prior to last years playoffs, that was his biggest knock. He made dumb plays in the fourth when games were on the line but he matured a lot in game 5 of last years eastern conference finals.

This year LeBron has been taking over in fourth quarters almost daily for the Cavs and last night was no different. James scored eight of his 31 points in the second overtime and pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds to lead Cleveland to a 113-106 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats. I guess he just got tired of playing so he decided to close it out himself.

“My team needs me to make big plays down the stretch and that’s what I did,” said James, who played 49 minutes. “It wasn’t just me, though. Everybody made plays.”

James’ 8 points in the second overtime stabbed them but Damon Jones’ twisted the dagger by 3-pointer from the corner gave Cleveland a 109-102 lead with 1:27 left, that basically put the game away.

Lakers push winning streak to 5

The Lakers are playing at a very high level right now. They may very well be at least the second best team in the west right now. They have won 5 games in a row, Andrew Bynum is fastly becoming one of the games top young big men, and Kobe is Kobe.

Last night the staggering Bucks came into the staples center to face the Lakers. They have beaten the Lakers 3 times in a row but last night they got sent away with a 110-105 L. Kobe led the way for the Lakers with 37 points despite the fact that he had a viral upper respiratory infection and he got a lot help from Andrew Bynum who had 25 points and a career-high 17 rebounds.

Kobe looked very Jordanesk in this one with a performance that reminded me of when a flu-ridden Michael Jordan got out of a sick bed to play in game 5 of the 1997 NBA finals against the Utah Jazz. The Bulls went on to win that game too. Ok fine, a game against the Bucks can’t compare to a finals game but it was still an impressive game for Kobe.

Chris Paul and Bobby Jackson had a perfect night against the Heat

Chris Paul and Bobby Jackson shot very well last night against the struggling Heat. Very very well. Bobby Jackson said that he didn’t feel like he would miss a shot, and he didn’t. Bobby Jackson lead the Hornets to a 114-88 victory over the heat last night with 25 points. He was 9-9 from the floor with 7 of those 9 shots being 3-pointers. Not to be outdone, Chris Paul responded to his teammates challenge with 16 points and 16 rebounds. He also didn’t miss a shot got 7-7 from the floor. Wow.

So at the beginning of the season you look at the schedule. You see the Hornets and the Heat and you expected the Heat to be the team with 20+ wins and the Hornets to be the team to be struggling to get a win right? It’s ok, you can admit it.

As anyone who follows the league this year knows, thats not the case. Chris Paul has the Hornets ballin and looking like legit contenders in the west. I have to say, I didn’t see that coming.

    All out hockey brawl [Video]

Ok so this isn’t actually NHL but this is fastly becoming a famous hockey fight the Russian Super League. This fight has everything. It is four minutes of great hockey brawling from all sorts of NHL rejects and wash-ups. The goalie got into to the fight as well a bench clearing brawl that resembled something from baseball. I LOVE IT!!

Video: Terrell Owens tryin to get at Inez Sainz

Before today I had never heard of Ines Sainz but omfg! This chick is the former Miss Spain and currently a reporter for a Mexican network. Guess I’m gonna have to learn Spanish.

Anyway, in this video he was trying to avoid the media by hiding behind the curtains and looking like a shady child molester. Once he spotted the Latin beauty he called her over and decided to give her a personal “interview.”

Before I show you the video which is hilarious, I’m gonna show you some pics to show what we’re workin with right now.

Oh my goodness, look at that ass. Ok, I’m gonna try to stay focused to finish this post. Here is the video:

According to Terrell Owens, he should be playing in this weekend against the Giants. We don’t know how effective he will be but maybe she nursed him back to health.

Thanks to Deuce of Davenport for puttin me up on this.  LoL.

Utah Jazz partying it up [Pics]

Ok so I’ve never been to Utah. I imagine that theres not much to do there besides party. Which the Utah Jazz do and somehow allowed the pics to get on the internet. LoL. Unfortunately if this is any indicator of how much fun is to be had in Utah, than don’t plan on seeing me there anytime soon. I’m a little disheartened that even NBA parties are not immune to the dreaded sausage fest situation:

Mehmet Okur clearly can’t handle these chicks:

    Hi mom!!

Theres a few more pics here.  Despite the fact this this is a clear sausage-fest, I’m very impressed that the Utah Jazz run multi-cultural trains. Somewhere Yao is shedding a tear, wishing the rest of his teammates would, for once, invite him to party with them.
