When it comes to shootouts, theres no one better than the Oilers. Robert Nilsson scored the only goal in their shootout victory over the Red Wings in their 4-3 victory last night. This win gave their an NHL record 13th shootout win of the season.

“It’s always nice to have a positive record, but it is all about winning games,” Oilers goalie Mathieu Garon said. “Those shootout wins have been huge for us because almost half of our wins have come that way.”

Down 2-1 in the third period is not a good position to be in. The Avs didn't seem to worry much about it last night though. Paul Stastny set up the tying goal with an assist to Milan Hejduk the 13:33 minute mark.

The game went to overtime and Stastny came up with the game winner on a powerplay.

"He saw me and he made a good play and I tapped her in," said Stastny. "It's always big, especially when you are down a goal in the third. We've got to enjoy this one and be ready because we play Vancouver tomorrow."
