Donnie Walsh set to be hired today: This could be it for Isiah

The Knicks are expected to turn over all basketball operations to the Bronx-born Donnie Walsh today. This hiring will be the end for the four year run of Isiah Thomas. Thomas is expected to end the season but that will be all she wrote for Zeke.

Along with the firing of Thomas, Walsh is also expected to make some other personnel changes including at the GM position. Billy King is currently the leading candidate for that position. That would be a nice fit.

So it was an interesting run for Isiah in New York. He became the second fastest coach in Knicks history to reach the infamous 100 loss column and the Knicks have the highest salary in the league. As a result of Thomas’ leadership (along with other factors) the Knicks have managed to have become the laughing stock of the league time and time again.
