Buzz Bissinger hates blogger too: What else is new

First time here? Subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

H.G. "Buzz" Bissinger who is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of Friday Night Lights was on a panel with deadspin blogger Will Leitch to discuss the future of Journalism and about how the face of sports media is changing. That didn't happen though.

What was supposed to be an intelligent, adult conversation turned into nothing more than an old guy crying about how bloggers are idiots.

"This guy, whether we like it or not, is the future," Bissinger said, while pointing his finger at Leitch. "The future in the hands of guys like you is really going to dumb us down to a degree that I don't think we can recover from."

Of course he has no source of information, he didn't know the difference between a blog post and a blog comment and honestly, I'd be surprised if he has ever actually read a blog in his life.

This is just another example of an old white guy who is angry about the fact that the world is changing and that there are more voices out there now to compete with. In the past, it was nothing but old white guys talking to other old white guys and Bryant Gumbell, but now the youth of this nation have a voice. Nevermind appreciating that there is more room for discussion and the fact that the people actually love it, they'd rather go on rants where they make themselves look like idiots.

I commend Leitch for maintaining his composure and not sinking to this guys level. It only made him look worse.

Larry Brown taking over the woeful Bobcats

larry-brown.jpg

So they both needed something. Larry Brown wanted another shot at a coaching job and Michael Jordan can't live being known as a loser, in any facet. You knew that Larry Brown wouldn't stay away for too long so the two former North Carolina players got together and put a deal together to make Larry Brown the new Bobcats head coach.

This will be Larry Browns 9th head coaching job in the NBA and his first since he was ran out of New York (I wonder how that worked out for the Knicks). He will replace Sam Vincent who was abruptly fired by Michael Jordan and the Bobcats on Saturday.

Mindy McCready admits to adultry with Roger Clemens: Somewhere R. Kelly is smiling

mmcready.jpg

Yesterday I reported that Roger Clemens and country music singer Mindy McCready had a 10 year affair. It was a rumor from sources yesterday but today it was confirmed by McCready:

"I cannot refute anything in the story," a tearful but resolute McCready told the Daily News, which broke the story at midnight Sunday.

The News reported that the two met in a Florida karaoke bar when McCready was a 15-year-old aspiring singer and Clemens was a 28-year-old ace for the Red Sox and a married father of two.

"Yes, I have known Roger Clemens for a long time," McCready said, reading from a prepared statement. "He's a kind and caring man. He's also a legendary athlete. The central topic in the debate, however, regards his professional life, not his personal life.

"There are legal matters working their way through the system that have nothing to do with me. From my point of view, that is where the focus should remain."

Thats nuts.

Clemens released a statement Monday through his lawyer saying that McCready was a longtime family friend but the relationship was not sexual.

RIIIIIGGGGHHHHHT

I hope he really doesn't expect us to beleive that.

According to sources, Roger sent her checks, some as much as $25,000. Thats a pretty good "friend" right Roger? Fuck outta here.

Paul Pierce throwin up gang signs at Al Horford

Ok so Reds Army brought this one to my attention today. Paul Pierce threw up some sort of sign to Al Horford during game 3, here is the video.

This little mini rivalry between Horford and Pierce will probably be the storyline of this playoff series. Al Horford got at Pierce as well so we will see where this goes from here with the series tied at 2-2.

Roger Clemens’ 10 year affair with Mindy McCready

As if Roger Clemens didn't have enough on his plate right now, what with the whole Mitchell Report thing and the trial, we have some more shocking news about the former icon.

According to the NY daily news, Mr. Clemens had a 10 year affair with her starting from when she was 15 years old. So not only is Roger a druggie but hes also a child molester too?? And to think, this guy was once one of my heroes.

According to sources, Clemens was with his Red Sox teammates in a Fort Myers, Fla., bar when then-teenager McCready caught his eye. After Clemens threw a shirt with his and several teammates' signatures onstage, an introduction was made.

"It was love at first sight, no doubt about it," said a source with intimate knowledge of the relationship.

According to the source, McCready did not learn that Clemens was married to Debbie Clemens until McCready attended a baseball game with her two younger brothers and read Clemens' bio in the program. The source says that McCready was too young to be angered by the news that Clemens was taken.

Have you ever seen someone fall so hard so fast, just a matter of months.

Al Horford fucking with Paul Pierce, not a good idea

Al Horford taunted a fallen Paul Pierce during the final minute of a Hawks win over the Celtics on Saturday night.

You can't really call it a rookie mistake just yet because Paul Pierce hasn't made him pay yet but I'm willing to bet money that he will.

Jason Kidd tackles Jannero Pargo

I don't know if this was an accident or if it was intentional just out of frustration but when Jannero Pargo had a shot at an open layup in their game last night, Jason Kidd nearly beheaded him in an attempt to "stop" the shot. He accomplished that. He also got a flagrant and was ejected.

World Record for consecutive 3-pointers: Done by 60 year old man

Forget about Steve Kerr, Mark Price and Reggie Miller, this old guy puts you all to shame. He is the world record holder for the most consecutive 3 pointers. He dropped 209 of them in a row... Wow!

No word yet on if the Knicks are interested in signing him. If they do, look for the deal to be in the 5 year $60 million dollar range.
