Spurs 91 - Hornets 82: The Spurs picked a good time to get the first road win in this series. Backed into a game 7 with the younger more energetic Hornets, they proved why they are the NBA champs by keeping their composure and taking care of their business by topping the Hornets 91-82.

The Spurs big 3 knew that they each had to come out and contribute in order for them to come away with the win and thats just what they did. Manu Ginobili led the way in scoring with 26 points. Tony Parker added 17 points and Tim Duncan had 16 points and 14 rebounds.

They all contributed down the stretch when it mattered most. Manu had 4 clutch free throws in the final minute of the game and Tony Parker hit a vital jumper in the final minutes that really hurt the Hornets.

The Hornets are definitely moving in the right direction but it is not their time yet. They will be one of the top teams for years to come.

“One thing I want them to remember when they start working out next season is how they feel right now,” said Hornets coach Byron Scott, adding he was proud that his team, which did not make the playoffs last season, pushed the Spurs as far as it did.

“You have to go through some things before you can really understand how good it’s going to feel when you get to that next level,” Scott continued. “You don’t go from not making the playoffs to winning a championship. It just doesn’t work that way. … We’re headed in the right direction.”

The Spurs will face the Lakers in game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday at the Staples Center.
