Joey Dorsey is a clown

Ok so if this is any sign of how the Rockets season is going to go, expect another long year Rockets fans.

Ugh.

Rockets rookie Joey Dorsey is not really known for his brains (which is fine considering that he is a professional athlete) but this one definitely takes the cake.

In this video of the Rockets/Wizards summer league game, Dorsey did not play. He didn’t let that stop him from A) Talking shit to Dee Brown, B) Getting a technical foul which brought the Wizards closer and gave them possession with seconds remaining, and C) Proving that karma is real.

Dee Brown, the same guy he was talking shit too, ended up hitting the game tying layup to force overtime and of course the Wizards won the game in OT.

It’s a good thing this is only the summer league and not the regular season.

Thanks a lot to Odenized for the clip.

Leave the dunking to the black guys

Here’s a video that anyone who laughs at the misfortune of others should enjoy. It a young guy who looks like it is his dream to dunk one day. Well he accomplished it in this video, sort of. Except for the fact that he will have a throbbing headache in the morning.

Thanks to With Leather for this one.

China’s very strange Yao and LeBron Commercial

Here is Coca-Cola’s “Unity” Commercial featuring US basketball player LeBron James and China’s Yao Ming. It’s very interesting how this commercial goes down because instead of using teammates to back them up, LeBron and Yao use the likes of pandas, bears, fish, eagles and any other unusual animal you can think of.

Can you imagine LeBron dishing out an assist to one of these animals??

Daniel Gibson and the Cavs are happy

Is Daniel Gibson enough to keep Bron Bron in Cleveland after 2010?  I doubt it but for now at least, the Cavs and Gibson are happy with their new deal.  - [Ohio]

Marcus Camby is insulted by the Nuggets deal… and he should be

00709marcus-camby.jpg

A couple of days ago, the Clippers pulled off an amazing heist by acquiring Nuggets’ Center Marcus Camby. All they gave up for the big man was a swap of second round picks in 2010. Wait, what??

Marcus Camby has been one of the best defensive big men in the league for a long time. In fact, in 2006-07 he was the defensive player of the year. The Nuggets, even with Camby, were have been one of the worst defensive teams in the league. They should be trying to get good defensive players instead of getting rid of them.

Marcus knows this and he also knows how much work he put in during his time in Denver but apparently the Nuggets didn’t appreciate it according to him.

Here are some quotes of his from Rocky Mountain News:

“Blindsided, distraught, disrespected. All those adjectives. I definitely feel insulted,” he said in a telephone interview with the Rocky Mountain News.

“When I first heard about the trade, I felt like I was the scapegoat after all our past first-round exits and failures and lack of defense. I felt it was them telling me that I was no longer wanted and I was the cause of everything that went wrong the last couple years on this team.

“I’m still in disbelief. I’m still in shock. I still can’t believe this happened.” [...]

“Obviously, the Nuggets don’t owe me any explanation,” Camby said. “I understand that this is definitely a business, but I felt that the six years of service that I put in on the court and off the court, they at least could have given me a heads-up on what was going on. I feel very disrespected on that aspect.”

“I’m definitely frustrated because I felt that I gave it my all,” he said. “There were years when I was the only (healthy) big guy on the team when all the big guys around me were hurt. I would still play hurt and do my all for this team. I didn’t realize my salary was that much compared to everyone else’s. They basically dumped mine and got nothing in return.”

“The team and the organization always talked about the need to play good defense, but they traded away a pretty good defender,” Camby said. “From that aspect, I really don’t understand the move. They obviously feel confident with the team they have assembled right now to get some things done.”

Camby will be a nice replacement for the recently depart Elton Brand in Los Angeles so I guess if nothing else, Camby should be happy that he is not in a situation where he is under appreciated anymore.

The Clippers are moving in the right direction but with the Nuggets looking at guys like Chris Andersen and Francisco Elson to possibly replace Camby, they are going in the wrong one.

James Posey signs with the Hornets

Former Celtics swingman James Posey signed with the Hornets this week. The deal is estimated to be worth 4 years, $25 million.

James Posey will be a proven winner coming off the bench for the Hornets. He brings veteran leadership and good 3 point shooting to a team that is on the uprise. He will make a good young team even better.

From ESPN:

“It was a really tough decision for him,” Bartelstein said. “Boston was an incredible experience for him every way you look at it. If he was going to leave Boston, he wanted to make sure it was for a team that would compete for championship immediately and the Hornets certainly are in that world.”

Because of future luxury-tax concerns, Boston was apparently reluctant to offer Posey, 31, more than a two- or three-year deal starting at the league’s midlevel exception (just under $5.6 million) in spite of Posey’s considerable contributions to the Celtics’ first championship since 1986.

Posey was a key part of the Celtics winning the championship and he has won 2 of the last 3 titles. He also won it in 2006 with the Heat.
