Tony and Jess

So Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson have been on the rocks lately but according US Weekly it has little to do with their relationship. Jess has a fucked up dad who wants to get paid off of their relationship:

He even offered to broker a deal to sell his engagement and wedding to a magazine should Romo and Jessica, 27, get engaged. “‘If you guys have a marriage, I can do the same [sell it] that I did with Ashlee,’” a source quotes Joe as saying.

Apparently Jess’s Dad has been irritating Tony Romo and he was responsible for their recent breakup.

Redskins make an offer for Chad Johnson, its not good enough though

chadjohnsondealrejected.jpgApparently the Bengals aren’t playing when they say that they do not want to trade Chad Johnson, even if that means turning down a really good deal.

The Bengals Coach Marvin Lewis held a news conference tuesday and confirmed that the deal from the Redskins was turned down. This deal would’ve potentially gotten them two first round picks:

The Redskins offered their first-round pick, No. 21 overall, and a conditional third-rounder in 2009 that could escalate to a first-rounder if Johnson and the Redskins hit certain performance levels, the sources said.

It was not the first time the Redskins approached the Bengals about a deal, but it was the first significant proposal.

Lewis says the disgruntled receiver who wants out of Cincinnati should keep his word and sit out the season.

“I’ve stated our case with Chad,” Lewis said. “He has a contract through 2011. He’s stated without an opportunity to go to a different team and a new contract, he wasn’t going to play. I think he’s a man of his word and says he’s not going to play, so don’t play.”

Chad will be playing somewhere next year. If he were to sit out, that would be just silly.

Titans smoking O’s of Weed? We’re not surprised

bbg-dry3small.JPG

A police report yesterday revealed that a snitchin drug dealer confessed that he’s been selling some dank to Tennessee Titans players for around $1000 an ounce, or what they thought was an ounce. For those of you who don’t know much about marijuana, the normal price for and an O of some good weed will generally range from about $300 to about $700 depending on how good it is. So if your paying $1000 for an O, it’s gotta be some pretty ridiculous weed or your just getting screwed.

In cross-examination by Williams’ attorney Peter Strianse, Corey Cecil was asked about the transactions, “The people that were sending you those wire transfers were connections that you had made on the streets when you more or less were a hydroponic marijuana dealer to the stars; is that right?”

Cecil asked Strianse what he meant by “To the stars,” and the attorney replied, “Tennessee Titans players, you would set them up with ounce quantities of high-quality hydroponic?”

Cecil then replied, “Yes, sir.”

Cecil also confirmed in questioning that he was “pinching out” seven grams of each ounce and selling it to the players as a full ounce with the Titans players unaware of being shortchanged.

He was pinching bags? He got arrested and sang like a bird? This guy definitely needs to learn more about the game. He’s no real hustler.

The court report didn’t name any specific Titans players even though we all have an idea of one guy who was probably involved.

Corey Cecil, the dealer, had an uncle who is a cop. His uncle and another officer would stage fake arrests of Cecil during drug deals, and take all the money and the drugs. Afterwards they would give Cecil his weed back and they would split the money. Not a bad come up but you can’t sing about it so that it gets posted on the internet, idiot.

Urlacher’s agents wants a trade, Ulacher threatens to retire

brianurlacher-retires.jpgIf the rumors swirling around about Brian Urlacher are true, than is acting like an oversized crybaby. Urlacher’s agents are looking for the Bears to trade him, while Urlacher is saying that he will retire instead.

Urlacher would be potentially retiring because of back and neck problems but if they trade him to a contender or give him a really good deal, I’m sure those problems can be handled. The real reason is because this way, he won’t have to repay any of his $13 dollar signing bonus that he got when he got his current nine year, $56.65 million deal.

It’s one thing to hold out on a contract but to threaten to retire is something completely different and we all know he’s not going to do that. He’s not fooling anyone:

One NFL insider laughed off the situation as the equivalent of a child taking his ball and going home or threatening to hold his breath until he passes out.

”Urlacher has no leverage,” the source said. ”He wants to be paid, right? If he takes a medical [retirement], then he’s got to prove he’s hurt. If he does that, he’ll never get paid. They’re not going to trade him. All he can do is be disruptive.

”It’s a joke. Players never walk away from millions. They threaten to, but they never do it.”

Agreed with the last line. Theres no way that Urlacher will retire.

Someones tryin to get the NFL back in Los Angeles?!?!

The new blueprint for the NFL in L.A.

So apparently there is someone who is crazy enough to try and bring the NFL back to Los Angeles. Ed Roski, whos a billionaire developer, is interested in making the venture. Why he thinks he can succeed where so many other before him failed, I don’t know but he’s goin for it.

From LA times:

“I think this is important for Los Angeles, for the fabric of the city,” said Roski, who along with Philip Anschutz built Staples Center. “The city has done real well without the NFL, and the NFL has done real well without the city. But I think it’s important to have a professional football team in Los Angeles.”

Roski’s proposal is different from most because he controls the land necessary to build the stadium, training facilities and related development; and he already has a certified environmental impact report for the site.

Here is the fly over video of the current development:

Their goes is to have the Stadium complete by 2011 and to have the team in place by 2009. From there they would play at the Coliseum or Rose Bowl as a temporary home in the interim.

Good luck to whichever team potentially ends up in LA. LA has traditionally been a bad place for NFL teams. Both the Rams and the Raiders have been to the Super Bowl at least once since leaving back in 1994 and they haven’t looked back.

Chad Johnson is making it clear, he wants out

Chad Johnson says he won’t attend any Bengals functions, demands trade

If there was any doubt about whether Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson wants out of Cincy, he just made it clear as day.

The cause of Chad coming out and saying that he won’t participate was a statement by Bengals Quarterback Carson Palmer in which he indicated that Johnson said that he would be at mini-camp in June.

“I want to make this very clear,” Johnson said Wednesday. “I don’t know where he got that. I made no assertion to Carson that I would do that. Nothing has changed from what I’ve been saying for three months that I don’t want to play for the Bengals.”

Johnson made one of his strongest statements in saying he is not planning on reporting to any team functions because he wants to be traded.

“I want to be traded before the draft, and if that doesn’t happen, I want to be traded as soon as possible,” Johnson said. “I don’t intend on reporting to anything.”

The Bengals and Marvin Lewis have continued stating that they have no intention of dealing Johnson but it seems clear that he doesn’t want to be there. We’ll see how it plays out

Brett Favre comeback? He’s thinking about it

favre-comeback.jpgSo it’s possible that we may see Brett Favre lace em up again for the Packers. He claims that he has no plans on returning but that if the Packers need him to return due to injury or if the situation is right then he might return (he’ll be back).

Here’s an excerpt from the LA Times article:

“I guess my best response would be, right now no,” Favre told the Sun-Herald in Biloxi, Miss., when asked if he’s coming back. He spoke to sportswriter Al Jones, who is working with him on a book foreword.

But Favre conceded he might have a tough decision to make if, say, Green Bay called and asked him to come back because of team injuries.

“It would be hard to pass up, I guess,” he said. “But three months from now, say that presents itself, I may say, ‘You know what, I’m so glad I made that decision. I feel very comfortable in what I’m doing and my decision.’

“Yeah, I can probably be up there doing that and playing, but again, I don’t know. It’s only speculating. I think the world of that team. I had a lot of fun, not only this year, but over my career. Those guys I played with this past year, a lot of young guys, a lot of fun.”

Saying that his Packers replacement, Aaron Rodgers, has “fallen into a great situation,” Favre added: “And if that opportunity presented itself and they did call, it would be tempting. And I very well could be enticed to do it.”

Something tells me that we will see Favre again. He says that he doesn’t have plans to return but thats what Michael Jordan said too, then he wore number 45. I don’t know who Favre thinks he’s fooling. He will be back next year. At this rate, Aaron Rodgers will retire before he does.
