Jaromir Jagr signed with a Russian team one day after parting ways with the New York Rangers. If you remember, he played for the Russian team the Avangard Omsk during the lockout shortened season in 2004-05.
Well Now Jagr is returning to the Omsk. He signed a deal with them yesterday. No one specified the exact terms of the signing but it is believed to be a tax free $7 million which equals out to about $11 million for a season in the NHL. Not a bad deal.

It was reported by many, including myself, that Barry Melrose will be leaving ESPN to take the head coaching position of the Tampa Bay Lightning. ESPN made a tribute to him dubbed “The Best of Barry.” He deserves it. Despite the fact that ESPN likes soccer now more than they like hockey, Barry was still one of the best on the station.
